About me
Born and raised in South East London, Sophie studied drama at the University of Manchester. She toured working mens’ clubs round Manchester in a singing duo before in children’s theatre with companies including Polka and The Theatre of Thelema and musicals before being cast as Ace, Doctor Who’s feisty baseball bat wielding companion.
She is also well known for her work as a presenter on a wide range of TV programmes like Words and Pictures, Corners, WOW! Tiny and Crew, ZZZap! Melvin and Maureen’s Music a Grams, It’s a Mystery and many others.
Film work includes parts in multi award winners The Search for Simon and Sil and the Devil Seeds of Arador, plus The Sitter and School Ties and Web series Gentrification, Cops and Monsters and Secludio.
Sophie’s West End debut was at the Haymarket Theatre in a musical, Lust, based on the restoration comedy The Country Wife in which she played Margery Pinchwife opposite Denis Lawson as Horner.
Sophie’s extensive range of voice work, includes numerous dramas and audiobooks for Big Finish Productions and BBC Audio. Her work in animations includes Dennis and Gnasher, Bob the Builder (US) Bananas in Pyjamas, Peter Rabbit, and Tree Fu Tom.
In 2020 she published her first novel, At Childhood’s End, which became an Amazon best seller.
Sophie has a passion for personal development and leadership, especially for children and young people, and has worked as a teacher in Waldorf Steiner schools.
